Used vintage amp in good condition.
From Bob THE Amp Tech: Really cool old tube combo sold by Wards (when that was a thing). The power supply caps were replaced with modern devices not too long ago. This is prolly why the amp sounds so nice. I swapped the copper rectifier for a true tube 5y3gt and found that the sound of the amp was cleaner, less dirt. On review, the coppoer recitifier intentionally 'browns' out the amp a bit. I will leave the copper rectifier in place as it sounds pretty nice.
During initial bench test, the tremolo was not working at all. Just a bit of extra noise when turning up the 'intensity' knob. The tremolo circuit has an old tube and the original caps. I replaced the caps and updated the tube since I have one in stock. The tremolo started up with new caps, but was pretty weak. After tracing the circuit and checking I determined that one of the Bias resistors (330k R17) had gone bad. Replaced w a new 330k resistor and the tremolo sprang to life.
Amp is very cool and ready for return to playing.
