Description
Brand new pedal from JTH Electronics, made locally in NY and available only at Collar City Guitars.
Vintage Sony D128 (germanium) and a modern BC108 (silicon) in this build.
This particular Typhon has three-way switches for Punch and Crunch opening up an extra setting for each over a standard Typhon.
Each pedal is made by hand one-at-a-time by John in his secret lair in the Hudson Valley, NY.
---------------------------------------
The Beefy Typhon is for players looking for extra low end response in their fuzz.
The Typhon was created to combat the Olympians and ended up fathering many Greek mythological monsters. The JTH Electronics Typhon Fuzz was created to combat your sensibilities about fuzz faces and may birth you some sonic monsters of your own.
The Typhon Fuzz is based off of the Modkits Rattler, which itself is based off of the Fuzz Face circuit. The Typhon improves on the original circuit with less noise, a tone control for taming harsh high frequencies, and a bias control for dialing in the fuzzy sweet spot you're looking for.
-------------------------------------------
Volume - More or less....
Fuzz - Control the amount of fuzz gain, dial back for softer vintage-style fuzz sounds or crank it for extra sustain and compression
Bias - Controls how much voltage is going to gain stage, roll it back for velcro-y dead. Turn it up all the way for more clarity and sustain. Each one has a different 'sweet spot' and lots of fun sounds in-between!
Tone - Brighter to the right, darker to the left.
Crunch - Selects diodes, symmetrical(left) / asymmetrical(right) Silicon or asymmetrical LED (middle) diode clipping
Punch - Selects input capacitor, either .1uf (middle) .33uf(left) .47uf (right)(changes bass response)

JTHE pedals require 9VDC center negative power supplies (not included) only. These have been successfully tested with the appropriate One Spot, TREX, and SKB power supplies.
JTHE recommends using isolated power supplies for optimal sound quality and minimal signal interference. JTHE pedals have no internal 9V battery access and run only on power supplies.
