Do you want to achieve a crunchy or gritty tone, a tube-like response, or add incredible tonal nuance to your amp? The MCG Genesis is an extremely transparent (low/medium gain) BluesBreaker-style pedal that will take you to the next level.
The MCG Genesis is based on one of the most well-known and legendary pedals of all time—that's right, the highly acclaimed Marshall BluesBreaker.
We've modified, added, and tweaked some internal parameters, significantly improving its sound.
If you use single-coil pickups, you'll have the most transparent tones you've ever dreamed of. If you prefer humbuckers and want to experience a brighter, more transparent tone that's difficult to achieve with those types of pickups, don't worry. We've added a toggle switch that, when activated, significantly changes the effect signal, lowering its gain while brightening it, giving the guitar the sensation of having single-coil pickups.
4 CONTROLS
Volume: You know... How loud the thing gets!
Tone: Controls the amount of brightness in the signal. Turning it to the left makes it darker, turning it to the right makes it brighter.
Drive: Go from ultra-transparent jazz-style tones to delicious rock 'n' roll tones.
Gain: Controls the amount of extra saturation or the level of the booster added in the MCG Genesis.
This control is independent of the Overdrive control; it only works when the Booster is activated. It has 3 different functions, which we'll explain below.
2 TOGGLE SWITCHES
Toggle (+ -) Switch: This switch allows you to maintain the pedal's transparent tone if you're using humbucker pickups.
Our recommendation is:
If you're using single-coil pickups: (+) position
If you're using humbucker pickups: (-) position
Toggle (Flash) Switch: This switch activates the pedal's internal Booster. You can also activate it without touching this switch by connecting our MCG Tap Control to the side and enjoy the convenience. (The MCG Tap Control is purchased separately.)
LED INDICATORS
When the Booster is on, the blue LED lights up.
When the Overdrive is on, the Gain Knob lights up pink.
This pedal requires 9V DC center negative power. Do not use more than 9V DC. It draws 60mA, measures 4.74" x 2.59" x 1.3", and weighs 0.66 lb.
